I'm Federico. I'm trying to use Powell's method to minimize a Mutual Information function. Sometimes it's two dimension and sometimes three, depending on the rest of the program.
My doubt is that I don't understand how f1dim works and from where this x that f1dim uses come from. If anyone could help me I'll always be gratefull.

I really need your help in this. I'm doing my thesis and I need this help quickly. Thanks a lot for your comprehension.
