I am a new one,this place is very good to talk about the numerical method.
now I have a big quesition , and I use the DFP ( which call lnsrch) method to locate the minimum, but it always has problem. if I give the stpmax is very small, it will work for some initial guess points, but if the stpmax is a little large, the programm will return from lnsrch,where it said that the alam is less than alamin , so everybody, do you have the same problem like me ? what do you think where is the mistake ? thanks in advance.
