What exactly does it mean, can some one give me an illustration, to normalize data (renormalize?), section 14.3, page 621, NR in C.

Hello, Douglas.
Normalize means "multiply all the values by the same factor so as to adjust their sum". The book discusses what you may want to adjust the sum to be.
