Root Finding

First: the book is fantastic.
Second: one idea. You introduce in a lot of methods ( in Ch 9). A summery in a table at the end of the chapter would be nice´. Especially for non English people.
So I'm a non-English and even worth a beginner in numeric. I met this subject only because I research for my possible dissertation for finishing university. I was searching methods for finding roots to solve ( for the most of you trivial, for me new) simple polynomials but with high grads (financial equations). DID I UNDERSTAND RIGTH: for me only the first methods are interesting (Until Müller)? Because I don't need complex numbers and only one dimension; If there is more than one root and I only need the smallest, I bracket the root and refine the intervall with the smallest values with any method ?
I hope my questions are on the rigth place. And thank you for any help.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the nice comments.

Our recommendations on which methods to use are in section 9.0. Look at the 4 "bulleted" paragraphs right before the routine scrsho.

Best wishes,
