Hi,
I've been reading up on wavelets, and I know that in NR they use the Daubechies wavelets. However, I know that there are other types of wavelets that can be used, such as the Haar, or the Coiflets.
So my question is : what are the other types of discrete wavelets and why use one instead of the other? It seems that Daubechies is the favored one, but why, and why not others?
Thank you
-Simon
