I'd like to know if it's possible to carry out weighted least squares fitting using SVD.

For all the response values in my data it is possible to estimate their measurement error with reasonable accuracy, and some data points are clearly more noisy than others. It would be quite useful to me to be able to use the inverse of their variances as weights.
