I had purchased the original NR in C book. I have been OCR-ing the routines I want to use, and it is a rather frustrating and time consuming process. I was wondering if a download of the source files is possible for people who have already purchased the book.
My ISBN is 81-85618-16-X
Thank you.

Hello, mamaji4,

I'm afraid that what you are doing is not legal. The book and machine-readable software are sold separately (that is, "unbundled") specifically so that the cost of each can be kept as low as possible. We depend on revenues from the separate software sales to support our efforts in keeping the software well maintained, as well as for supporting things like this web site.

If you look at page xvi in your C book, you'll see that the "immediate license" authorizes you to use a routine only if you have personally typed it into the computer. OCR definitely does not qualify. Otherwise, to be legal, you'll need to purchase the software, e.g., from this web site (http://www.nr.com/com/storefront.html) .

I'm sorry to be the "bad cop" here, but we could not stay in business without the revenues from both the books and the software.

Sincerely,
Bill P.

Hi Bill.
I'm sorry about that. I had no idea that OCR ing was not permissible. I guess I'll just type in all my routines then.
Thanks for clearing my doubts.
