The following message appears when I attempt to read a NR book online:

"There was an error contacting the server or the server's response could not be decoded. Please check your Internet connection.
If this error persists please contact the publisher and present the text of this message."

This is on a Windows XP PC with Adober Reader 8.1. The plugin tests out ok, so it is working otherwise. Thanks...

Hmm. I downloaded Reader 8.1 and can't reproduce the problem on my Win XP SP2 machine. I'm using the latest plugin from here (http://www.nr.com/plugin/plugin_install.html#mswin). You might want to install this one.

Does the plugin work for you on this link (http://www.nrbook.com/sslpluginok.pdf)? If not, please go through all the steps in the newly revised troubleshooting instructions (http://www.nr.com/plugin/plugin_install.html#trouble), especially Step 3, and let me know what you find.

If the above link DOES work, then please let me know exactly what is the URL of the book section that you are having trouble with?

The books were working as of Tuesday, but did not work all weekend. I had the plugin installed properly, and actually had a slightly newer one that auto-installed directly from the manufacturer.
I don't have a clue what was holding it up, other than possible server maintenance during the weekend.
